Pastor Chapman grew up in a pastor’s home in Georgia under the influence of godly parents. From an early age, he had a desire to live for the Lord and serve Him, having made a profession of faith. Even so, as an adult, the Holy Spirit dealt with his heart helping him realize that God wanted more than just his service and a “head” knowledge – God wanted his heart. Pastor then realized that he had been missing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It was then that he gave his heart and life to God in true “repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 20:21).
Pastor is a graduate of The Crown College of the Bible in Knoxville, TN. He graduated in 2004 with a Bachelors’ degree in Pastoral Theology. It was also at Crown that he met his wife, Mary Lin, the daughter of an evangelist. They were married in 2004. God has blessed them with three children – Evelin, Victoria, and Savannah.
Immediately following graduation from college, Pastor was given the opportunity to become a summer intern at a growing church. Upon completion of his internship, he was asked to stay on staff to oversee the church’s buildings and properties. After a year of serving in that capacity, he was asked to become the Children’s Pastor. While serving as the Children’s Pastor, he managed the volunteer staff who served in the nurseries, children’s churches, Wednesday evening programs, and the many children’s Sunday School classes.
In 2009, Pastor was given the opportunity to become the associate pastor helping his pastor manage the growing responsibilities of the thriving ministry. As associate pastor, he oversaw the daily operations of the church, superintended over fifty Sunday School classes, helped to manage a staff of approximately thirty people, and administrated a large visitation outreach program using a survey-based process.
God used and blessed him in this ministry for eight years as he faithfully served under the leadership of his pastor. Pastor experienced many blessings while ministering there including being a part of a special Christmas service in 2011 during which 1,624 people attended and 35 of them walked the aisles accepting Christ as Saviour. He is truly grateful to God for the many opportunities God gave him as he served in that local church.
In 2012, God began a process of enlarging Pastor’s ministry as He guided him to this opportunity to be Senior Pastor of Lighthouse, accepting the unanimous call in July 2012. He is humbled by the opportunity to serve in a thriving place where there is freedom to preach the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ among a people who are committed to HIS heart of service to others.
In 2014, Pastor graduated with honors with a Master of Ministry degree in Biblical Counseling from Covington Theological Seminary.
