As a young child, Laura would file her parents’ old bills in a shoe box not realizing that nearly twenty years later the Lord give her the opportunity to work in the banking industry. Since 1975, she has been employed in a variety of positions in the banking world including secretary to an executive vice-president of bank operations, mortgage and student loan officer, and branch manager of a bank in her hometown of Clear Spring.
During her years of employment, Laura attended numerous classes and seminars earning various certifications for many different levels of banking. Further, she also was licensed for Life and Health Insurances and Securities. In December of 2005, Laura retired after working in the banking world for thirty years.
However, Laura’s first love is her husband Roger and her two lovely daughters, Milissa and Emilee. Their daughters have blessed them with three wonderful grandchildren: Craig, Joshua, and Maddie.
Laura was saved at the age of 12; however, it was not until later in life that she understood God had saved her on purpose for a purpose. Realizing that God wanted her to serve Him with the talents He had given her, she took advantage of the many opportunities to witness to bank customers.
Because of her banking experience, Laura has been a great asset to Lighthouse as our Financial Secretary. In addition, she is grateful for the opportunity serve in this capacity under the leadership of Pastor Chapman.
